Birdies

All that glitters is not gold. All that is bright may not hold. Ok. I made that second bit up. I bought a new set of watercolour today. You can see it in the upper lefthand corner. As bright as the colours may be they don't hold up on paper. Not even a fraction. Bummer. I used the DR watercolour set, acrylic paint and acrylic ink for this piece but thought the phony palette looked great with it.

  2. Hi, I'm so so sorry I have deleted my earlier comment where I was gushing on how talented you are. I thought you didn't like that kind of comment hence not responding to it here. So I deleted that one and post up a new more tenang sikit comment hehe. Sekali, I baru realized you actually replied in my own blog! (which I haven't been to quite a while). Malunyaaa. But thanks for visiting though. :)) #menyorokbawahtudungsaji I really want to buy that bird up there on the pink background, do u sell it?. Actually I wanted to learn these type of watercolour painting and I bought the set, papers and everything (since 2 years ago) but life has been too busy and I can't find that space yet. The starter set still there untouched in a corner. I guess you are my new inspiration. :)

    1. Hahaha! I was wondering why you deleted your original comment. Thanks also for your tenang comment! :) Do I sell my work? Very good question. I am actually planning to sell the prints but it's hard finding a good printer. The ones I have approached only do commercial stuff like buntings, posters, etc. I will keep you updated once I have it all figured out. Thanks so much for your ineterest. Terharu sangat :) BTW you MUST start painting and KEEP WRITING! :))

  3. Hehehe... I'm kelamkabut like that sometimes. Oh well, I was thinking about buying the original but then again I guess replicating will be a tedious effort for you (and most probably I can't even afford it! hehe). But prints pun okay sangat, I bought some prints from the water color senior artist at Balai Seni Visual Negara's entrance tu (he offer free classes on Sat and Wed if not mistaken but I still fail to attend sigh). He captured the prints using his own camera so depending on the shades of the day or exposure of the camera, the prints are all in different tones than originals hehe, I guess that will not work for this beautiful birds so I will wait :). Watercolour painting is in my life to do list but I currently have too much on my plate at the moment ie WORK + WRITE (kadang2) + FAMILY + STUDY (baru sambung). So I think I will have to satisfy myself by collecting inspiration at the moment. :)) Thanks for the reply.

    1. Yup. It's hard getting the print to come out exactly like the original. Maybe using a scanner would be better but I have yet to try. Still learning :) My friends pun ada yang tanya about buying the originals tapi I sayang nak jual :) Tx again for your interest! Will let you know.
