Fish

Made these two for Sweetie #2 but I'm going to use the smaller one for my pin cushion :)

Getting back on the "programme" - I used my new set of water colours to paint these little guys below.

My Very First Bag

This started out as a collage of embroidery and  fabric remnants, which I got from my mom's tailor (a whole huge bag full!) It's been left in a box for the past 12 years. After such a long hiatus from making and painting (that even my mom's tailor has retired!) I decided to take it out and make a bag out of it. I made it some months ago and it's completely hand sewn just like the baby quilt. My first bag from my first hand sewn art piece is also my first anything since I started going back down the creative path again.

If you look closely, you can see her camisole under her lace top :)

I used my late grandmother's old batik for the lining. The colours have faded but it still looks beautiful.

Wood... Houses #8

Found these pieces of plywood and couldn't resist painting them houses and buildings.

And I am err... not sorry? :)

A Bird...

For Sweetie #1 ...

My attempt at something other than buildings and houses at Sweetie #1's request. Couldn't get the feet right but am going to keep trying. Got a lot of help from this book.

Stone on Stone

Saw the fish stone illustration by Isidro Ferrer via one of my favourite blogs the art room plant  and immediately dug up this book my mother bought back in the 70s. She was quite crafty when I was a kid and I remember she painted a duck on a rock we found in the garden. It got lost some time over the years or maybe it's sitting in a box somewhere. I should probably ask her.

Last one for now... Houses #7

Sweetie #1 thinks I am obsessed with houses and buildings. And she's right :) It's time to try something else.
